I Sell The Dead will make its way onto DVD and Blu-Ray in the US on March 30th courtesy of MPI Home Video and IFC Films. Director Glenn McQuaid’s horror comedy is the recipient of the Best Independent Feature Award at Toronto’s After Dark Film Festival.
The story centers around two bumbling grave robbers who quickly discover that grave robbing is not quite as simple as digging a hole. ISTD is a send off to the classic horror films produced by Amicus and Hammer in the 50’s and 60’s and stars Dominic Monaghan (Lost), Ron Perlman (Hellboy II) and Angus Scrimm (Phantasam).
Though the film has yet to make its US home video debut, a sequel is already in the works. Glen McQuaid spoke with Fangoria back in 2009 and discussed a few details about the upcoming project:
“The sequel is [currently] this 200-page script,” McQuaid said during an interview. “I want to revisit these great characters. I’m calling it The Further Adventures of Grimes & Blake. It’s basically a giant undead heist movie in the vein of The Great Train Robbery! Obviously, Grimes and Blake are back, but they are mainly dealing with a whole slew of new and eccentric characters. I’m selling it as less of a sequel and more of continuation of the world and the duo.”
