The Blu-Ray news keeps coming! Highdefdigest.com is reporting that in an early announcement to retailers, Vivendi is working on ‘Grindhouse:Special Edition’ for an October 5th release. ‘Death Proof’ and ‘Planet Terror’ have both been previously released on DVD and Blu-Ray, but this marks the first time the movies will get the original ‘Grindhouse’ single release treatment as it was shown in theaters.
Specs and supplements haven’t been confirmed yet, but suggested list price for the 2-disc Blu-ray set is only $19.97. Good news for the purists that have been begging for this single release since the two movies were split for their initial release.
Edit: Jayson here, not meaning to usurp BJ in any way, but the complete Grindhouse has made it to home video previously on the now out-of-print Japanese 6-DVD box set from Geneon Entertainment. Hopefully, this U.S. BD will be as incredibly stacked as this set…
